Somerset levels circular route

This is a road route, that apart from a small stretch of the A378 at the start, is on country roads. It doesn’t matter whether you cycle the route clockwise or anti clockwise, either way you will encounter a steep climb and a steep descent.  Great views across the levels.

Start at the Langport Visitor centre and turn Left onto the A378, after the right hand bend turn Right and start the loop.

Cheddar Gorge Road

Described as one of the most scenic routes in England, this offers a 3 mile challenge for cyclists.  At the bottom of the road are tea shops and the caves.

Brean Down

Cycle out across National Trust land to the fort at the end of Brean Point and then cycle along the length of the sands from Brean to Burnham.
